Privacy Policy

This policy sets out how user information is handled in Swim Trace (the “App”). The App stores record data on your device and does not send it to the developer's servers.

Last updated June 28, 2026

SwimTrace 開発者 (“we” or “us”) respects the privacy of users of the App and handles personal information and user information as follows. Please review this policy before using the App.

01Introduction

The App is an iOS application for recording and viewing swimming times, events, distances, meet information, and the like. Records are entered by you and, in principle, stored only on your device.

The App has no proprietary account registration and no server (backend) operated by us. Accordingly, we do not view or collect the contents of your records.

02Information we collect

(1) Record data you enter and save

  • Competition records such as times, events, distances, course (short/long), and laps
  • Associated information such as meet name, venue (location), date, lane, and finishing place
  • Photos attached to records (selected from your device's photo library)

These are stored in a database on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.

(2) Information collected automatically through ad delivery

  • Advertising identifiers (such as IDFA), device information, and approximate location and usage data
  • These are collected and processed by advertising providers (such as Google) (see “Advertising and tracking” below)

(3) Information related to billing

  • Purchase information such as subscription purchase, restoration, and active status
  • These are processed by Apple and the billing platform (RevenueCat)

(4) Analytics and diagnostic information

  • Usage statistics of the app (screen views, interaction events, etc.)
  • Crash diagnostics (device model, OS version, crash logs, etc.)
  • These are collected and processed by Google Firebase (Analytics / Crashlytics)
Information we do not collect: We do not directly collect information such as your name, address, phone number, or credit card number through the App.

03Purposes of use

  • To provide the App's features, such as saving, displaying, and analyzing records (showing best times and trends)
  • To display advertising and keep the App free of charge
  • To provide, restore, and manage the status of the subscription (ad removal)
  • To investigate problems and improve quality and convenience

04Handling of on-device data

Record data and attached photos are stored on your device. Depending on your device settings and OS mechanisms (such as iCloud Backup), they may be included in your own backups. These are under your control, and we are not involved in or able to view them.

If you delete the App, the record data stored on the device is, in principle, deleted as well. Please back up any data you need in advance.

05Advertising and tracking (ATT)

The App displays advertising using Google's advertising service “Google AdMob.” For ad delivery, AdMob may collect information such as advertising identifiers and use it to display ads relevant to your interests and to measure performance.

App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

Based on iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT), the App displays a dialog—such as on first launch—requesting permission to track you across apps and websites.

  • If you allow it: More personalized ads using advertising identifiers may be displayed.
  • If you do not allow it: No tracking is performed, and non-personalized ads are displayed. You can continue to use the App's features.

You can change this setting at any time from “Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking” on iOS. For details on how information is handled in advertising, please see Google's privacy policy.

06Billing and subscription

The App offers a monthly auto-renewing subscription (Premium) that removes ads. Payment is made through Apple (App Store), and the billing platform RevenueCat is used to manage purchases and active status.

Purchase information arising from these processes is handled in accordance with the privacy policies of Apple and RevenueCat. We do not collect payment information such as credit card numbers.

07Third-party services

The App uses the following third-party services. For how each company handles information, please see their respective privacy policies.

Google FirebaseAnalytics & crash reportingPolicy ↗
Apple (App Store)App distribution & paymentsPolicy ↗

08Data retention and deletion

  • Record data and photos are retained on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App.
  • Individual records can be deleted at any time from within the App.
  • The retention period of information collected by third parties through advertising or billing follows each company's policy.

09Children's privacy

The App does not intentionally collect personal information from individuals under a certain age. If a child uses the App, please do so under the responsibility of a parent or guardian.

10Information security

We endeavor to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of user information. However, because record data is stored on your device, please appropriately manage the device itself (such as setting a passcode).

11Changes to this policy

This policy may be revised in response to changes in laws or the service. If there are material changes, we will announce them on this page. If you continue to use the App after a revision, you are deemed to have agreed to the revised policy.
